Task number 1 and 9. Change the sentences below into direct speech and indirect speech quetion statement !

1. Do you know my cousin ?
Answer : She asked me if I knew her cousin

9. “ Will you be at meeting tomorrow “
Answer : He asked me if I would be at meeting the next day

When asked direct questions using words such as where, when, why, what, who, how. question the reported change into positive and quotes.

Example :
Diana said to me " how old are you " ?
Diana asked me how old I was

How old are you =>  Use the simple present tense then we turn the question into a noun clause. So the statement turns into Diana asked me how old I was because it was the simple past tense of acres

When regular direct question does not directly use the word ask. Statement in the form of  "yes"  and "no”  question, then we use the word if or whether, as a liaison. said it normally should work in the past.

Example :
Tom said to me " are you hungry " ?
Tom asked me if I was hungry
Tom asked me Whether I was hungry

In this statement we have to change the above question of tenses simple present tense becomes simple past tense. So we use " was " to change from " are ". Then to ask the question we must use " if " or " Whether " too. Because in this statement we just answer" yes" or "no" .
